What is a Valve?
A valve is a mechanism used to control, direct or stop fluids such as liquids, gases or steam in a pipeline. It is widely used in various industrial applications, infrastructure projects and daily life. Valves perform various functions by opening and closing the flow of fluids, regulating the pressure level and even adjusting the flow rate.
The basic function of valves is to control or stop the flow of fluids in a pipeline or system. To accomplish this process, valves usually contain a mechanism consisting of a valve body, valve handle, gaskets and sealing elements. There are many different types of valves and the function of each may vary depending on the system used.
Valves are used in a wide variety of sectors. The most common areas of use include water and wastewater systems, natural gas transmission lines, petroleum and chemical industries, power plants, building installations and automation systems. In addition, the use of valves is quite common in the plumbing systems of all kinds of industrial facilities, infrastructure projects and residences.
